Designing the "Class Of" apparel is an annual project at Herff Jones, and around two dozen artists from across the company submit designs for consideration. Our Creative Director will narrow what's frequently 50-100 designs down to about a dozen and ask for refinements or further iterations. Multiple designs are used on the final apparel and accessory offerings for the year, and they may or may not necessarily cohere to a them: the main idea is to be bold and attract a high school student customer base.
This design was one of six that I submitted and was chosen for our "Classic Hoodie," one of the core apparel pieces for the year. This design proved to be extremely successful and saw high sales numbers, and as a result the design was repeated for the Class of 2024.
